What Is My Vision For The Church ?
We are to be a Habitation of Worship
Psalm 22:3  “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of (thy people).”  (KJV)
The worship of God will be given priority.  Our worship must be:
God Honoring
A Sense of Celebration
We are to be a House of Prayer
Isaiah 56:7  “…for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”  (NIV)
As we mobilize God’s people to pray for the concerns of His heart, all things are possible.
We are to be a Hope for the Lost
Psalm 33:20 “We wait in hope for the Lord, He is our help and our shield.”  (NIV)
As this community looks at our Christian lives, both corporately and individually, they must see the hope that they are so desperately lacking.
We are to be a Herald of Salvation
Romans 10: 14-15  “And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?  And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can they preach unless they are sent?  As it is written, ‘how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”   (NIV)
It is not enough for those around us to see the difference in our lives.  We must work aggressively to see our community and our world loved into the Body of Christ.
We are to be at the Helm of the Community
Matthew 5: 13, 14, 16  “You are the salt of the earth.  You are the light of the world.  …let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”  (NIV)
As Christians, we need to impact our community by serving in vital roles of leadership in civic events, government, and the local schools.  The church of today must also provide Christian men and women who will be role models for the youth of our community through active participation in sports, scouts, and dozens of other outlets.
We are to be a Hospital to the Hurting
Matthew 9:36  “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”  (NIV)
This allows people from all walks of life to come without pretense and have their needs met – physically, emotionally, relationally, and most of all, spiritually.  We are in the business of seeing lives changed --- for the better.
We are to provide a Higher Education to the Members of the Body
Ephesians 4: 11 – 12  “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”  (NIV)
The goal of the church is for every member of the body to be a minister.  We must actively seek open doors of ministry by identifying spiritual gifts and training believers in the areas of ministry God has called them into.
We are to be a Helpmate to the Overall Work of Christ
Ephesians 4: 2-3 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”   (NIV)
We are not in competition with the other churches in our community, but rather fellow laborers together for the sake of Jesus Christ.
